Welcome to this episode of the Health LifeLines podcast, where host Cris Duval, RDH, sits down with our guest, Simmi Chopra, an Ayurvedic Doctor from NYC, as they discuss how Ayurveda can help heal the body.
She completed the Ayurveda Doctor program from Kerala Ayurveda, based on the BAMS syllabus, with internships in Kerala Ayurvedic hospitals and clinics. She has a double Master's in Biostatistics and Molecular Biology from Rutgers University and JNU.
She has published research articles on Ayurveda for Columbia University’s Journal of Public Health, as well as mainstream articles on Alzheimer's and Statins when she worked at Mt Sinai Hospital and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. She has presented at NAMA (National Ayurveda Medical Association), Integrative Mental Health, Global Ayurveda, and Holistic Lifestyle Conferences, where she has spoken on topics ranging from Autoimmune diseases, chronic health problems, mental health problems, geriatric health, and how Ayurveda can help in these problems. She was on a panel discussion on Millets hosted by the Consulate General of India, New York.
She has appeared on TV – Fox 5 DC, Good Day Chicago, to discuss the benefits of Ayurveda. She has done interviews for the Wall Street Journal, Green Matters, Whole Foods, The Times USA, New Beauty, and many more. She has been featured on numerous podcasts, speaking on different aspects of Ayurveda. And written blogs for the News India Times newspaper. She has nearly 30k followers on tiktok where she provides simple Ayurvedic tips for health problems. She does webinars and workshops on Ayurveda nutrition at local libraries, yoga centers, and in-person events locally.
